A journal that looks normal. And quietly has your back.

Write like you would in any journal. Pick a word you’d never say by accident, and a couple of people who’d come if you did.

No account. Nothing to download. Not a panic app. Not a replacement for emergency services.

How it works

You just journal. That's it.

FAQ

Questions

What if I trigger it by accident?
Your word has to come up three times inside a minute, and then there’s an eight-second pause with a big stop button before anything is sent. Say your all-clear word and it stops instantly.
Will it call 911?
No. SayTheWord only ever texts the people you chose. It has no way to contact emergency services, and it isn’t a substitute for them.
Is my journal private?
Your entries are stored on your device and never uploaded, so we can’t read them. Lock an entry and it’s encrypted with your PIN as well. Two things do leave your phone: the safety texts you set up, and dictation — your browser sends that audio to its own speech service. Typing never leaves your device.
How does Walk With Me work?
Set a timer before you head out and your circle is told you’re on your way. If the timer runs out you get three minutes to check in. After that, they’re asked to call you.
Do I need an account?
No. There’s no sign-up and no password. Everything lives on your device, and you can export or delete all of it whenever you like.
